You are Totally Responsible for How Others Treat You

I was having a conversation with my mom the other day about “we teach others how to treat us”.  Most people focus on things like a loan never being repaid or abusive words being tossed our way.  Using us financial or abusing us verbally without revocation on our part does constitute enforcing that behavior, however this lesson can be experienced in some unlikely ways as well.

One such way that comes to mine is continuing to provide support and services to someone who blatantly shows no appreciation.  I will admit that there’s a fine line between “giving, wanting nothing in return” versus “giving, getting negative vibes in return”.  When you give from the heart and is able to walk away feeling full and complete, that’s good.  However if you walk away feeling empty and depleted then it’s time to stop!

To continue to extend your heart knowing the outcome is not beneficial to you, and is a sure sign that you’re teaching the wrong lesson!
